Dedication 2 is a collection of Commodore 64 tunes composed by Mibri that were released between June 2020 and April 2021.

Mibri’s involvement in the computer arts culture of the demoscene has seen him producing a steady stream of tunes for various music competitions and as soundtracks for demo productions. This selection, recorded from real Commodore 64 hardware, reflects the broad range of technical approaches and styles that Mibri has set about exploring, from the pulsing house of Embukyaku and Purple Lipstick to the reflective, melodic melancholia of Saudade No. 2 and Far from Here.

A sequel to the 2020 release Dedication, Dedication 2 assumes its title on the strength of Mibri’s drive to get as much as possible out of the Commodore 64’s famous SID chip. While it might be tempting to regard such an engagement with ‘retro’ hardware as being mired in nostalgia, Dedication 2 is all about looking forward – there’s always the next idea, there’s always the next tune.
